Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a root plant from the ginger family, which, thanks to its intense yellow-orange color and Indian origin, is also traditionally called Indian saffron. Turmeric has been used for over 5 thousand years and is one of the essential ingredients in Indian traditional spice curry. Of all the biologically active substances naturally found in turmeric, the most important is curcumin - a yellow-orange pigment from the group of curcuminoids, widely used and effective.
Numbers Are Good Organic Turmeric Powder is made from washed, air-dried, and finely ground organic turmeric root from northern India. This processing method preserves all the important biologically active ingredients found in turmeric.
Due to its characteristic aroma, intense color, and slightly peppery flavor, turmeric is used in many culinary techniques. It is suitable for marinating meat and vegetables, making cold sweet and savory sauces, and salads.
It can be used in the preparation of sweet and savory dishes. You can add it to risotto, salads, salad dressings, vegetable dishes, sauces, couscous, potatoes, pancakes, cakes... Typically, only 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of turmeric is enough. Add turmeric to dishes towards the end, if possible, to preserve the active ingredients and its truly distinctive aroma to the maximum.
