Spirulina is a blue-green freshwater algae that is 3.6 billion years old, making it one of the Earth's oldest inhabitants and is also known as a superfood. Wondering why?

Organic spirulina powder is entirely natural food composed of the most nutritious parts of freshwater algae, containing 60% proteins and amino acids. Proteins help with tissue building and regeneration, including muscles. Spirulina is rich in biologically complete proteins, meaning it contains all essential amino acids. It doesn't contain hard cell walls, making it easily digestible. The blue-green algae are rich in vitamins and minerals, and they contain a particularly high level of iron, which serves red blood cells that carry oxygen throughout the body. Spirulina also contains vitamins that contribute to reducing fatigue, maintaining normal skin, functioning of the nervous system, and protecting cells from oxidative stress.

The pigments from chlorophyll (green) and phycocyanin (blue) that enter its cellular structure give spirulina its color. Chlorophyll helps improve heart function and prevents harmful bacteria. Phycocyanin has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, helping us defend against free radicals, thus preventing cell damage. Spirulina also contains beta-carotene, which has similar antioxidant effects.
